ABOUT CARPE DIEM IMAGING

 Carpe Diem Imaging is owned and operated by Stephen and Susan Furlong, a husband and wife team with a passion for all aspects of photography. 

Both Stephen and Susan have had a love for photography for many years, but took their interest and skills to a more serious level in 2006 when they founded Carpe Diem Imaging.  Shortly thereafter, they began selling their stock photos in their local market and also began organizing formal family-based and professional/corporate photoshoots in on-site locations and a home-based multi-functional photostudio.  They now offer a wide range of photographic services including on-location photography, formal studio portraiture, stock photo sales, photograph restoration and photo printing in colour and B&W on a wide range of media.

Stephen and Susan greatly enjoy world travel photography.  Their favorite photographic destination is Cuba.  Many of their favorite Cuba photographs are showcased on this site.  They have compiled multiple street, landscape and portrait photographs from Holguin, Guardalavaca, Varadero, Matanzas, and Havana.

Their landscape photography also 'hits home.'  They have travelled to all corners of their home province of Newfoundland compiling stock photographs which highlight the 'small town' and 'by the bay' heritage of the youngest province of Canada.  

Stephen's initial venture into the world of professional photography was launched when the local music industry recognized that, as a drummer, he would be especially suited to percussion photography, and Stephen has photographed a number of commercial and local-interest musical venues. 

Susan's special photography interests include street and landscape photography which highlights the emotion of family life.  She greatly enjoys gardening photography and the compilation of photographs of a specific theme (ex. street signs or clothes lines!)

Both Stephen and Susan are Family Practitioner's by day, and have found their photographic pursuits to be a welcome distraction from the 'seriousness' of their original professions.  As such, Carpe Diem Imaging is a reflection solely of their love of photography: simply for the joy of capturing and making pictures, and sharing them with others.
