Welcome to Alba Photography. 

This web page is designed for my friends and family to view my pictures.  This is a big step for me as I have been taking pictures since my college days.  Until now I rarely displayed my pictures since I was not sure of the quality of my work.  You may see pictures on our walls at home, although rarely outside the house.  With the support of my biggest supporter, my wife, I am finally displaying the years of pictures that I have amassed over the years.

 I began taking pictures with a Pentax K1000 as directed by my college professor.  I took that camera around Europe, Mexico and the United States.  After taking many pictures with this camera, my wife purchased the SLR Pentax PZ 10 for my 40^th birthday. This was a wonderful camera and I mostly took pictures at football games, specifically the San Francisco 49ers.

 Recently I purchased the Pentax ist D.  I was not really proficient with this camera with my growing older not too interested in the “extras” the camera provided.  The camera is a great camera and all pictures displayed are with this camera.

 For my Christmas gift this year I received the Pentax K-20.  This is the year to really get serious about my photograpy.

 I love taking pictures for the art of it.  I have taken candid pictures for weddings and other paid events.  I took part in taking pictures for a restaurant’s calendar.  It was “neat” that I was published even though I still consider myself an amateur.  I resist taking pictures for money because being directed by someone to take a picture does not fit in the reason I take pictures.

 I love taking pictures at jazz concerts and athletic events as you can tell by my postings.   So with this web page I am finally putting my work out for people to enjoy and for critique.
