That we are a highly visual species there is little doubt - perhaps because our other senses have atrophied to a great degree, at least compared to most other denizens of this earth.  While I'm envious of my dog's keen sense of smell and hearing - I'm thankful that we can still see well, and have the intellectual and emotional ability to appreciate good photography.
