Thank you for visiting PhotographyByGerry.com as you probably have guessed my name is Gerry Braatz. I have been passionate about photography for as long as a can remember, I was that kid that always stole the camera away from their parents at every family gathering or vacation. Over the years my passion & talent for photography grew as did my skill with programs such as Adobe CS4, so earlier this year I decided to dive in head first and follow my dream of becoming a professional photographer.

 Because of my overall love for photography I found it very hard to label myself as a specific type of photographer. I didn’t want to be just a portrait photographer or a wild life photographer I want to do it all. Now it’s true I love taking photos of wildlife and nature, but at the same time capturing a couple’s first kiss or photographing the family pet is just as exciting to me. To be 100% honest I just enjoy taking pictures. If I had to pick a style that best fits me I guess it would have to be candid. I like for my pictures to look natural and not staged. While shooting I try to blend in with my surroundings and just let life happen. I don’t want your memories to look the way I want them to, I want them to look the way you intended them to.
